I've been pretty active in the forums as of late, mostly the Warriors Forum and have had some pretty good success so far. The work I did for Joshua Morris of GetStrongToday.com (Orlando Personal Trainer) is really paying off, he is, without me asking him telling everybody to contact me. I've always believed in OVER promising and OVER delivering and this is a good example why I do.
I have been contacted by two people with work that needs to be done. Unfortunatly, at this point in time, I don't have a very big portfolio but hopefully they will see value in the work I have done. I am currently working on an Auto Responder course that I will market myself and that will only add to my portfolio.
I added two more copywriting services aimed at people that use Clickbank and eBay. My plan is to contact people on eBay that didn't sell their products at the end of the auction and offer to write their sales copy for them. I wont charge them anything upfront and will only get paid a percentage on the once they get payment. This way I assume all the risk. Check out my eBay sales page.
With Clickbank I have noticed a tremendous amount of good products sold very very poorly and it is my intention of offering a sizable discount to these people in exchange for a Video Testimonial. Any business can live or die by their testimonials and with so many people claiming that they can write good ad copy its no wonder potential clients want to see what others are saying about you.Check out my Clickbank sales page.
Next I will be working on some catalog copy that I will stick in my portfolio page, I have already crafted an email to send to the creative director at catalog companies. I even sent out a few and had some response but nothing concrete that's why I want to put up some samples, hopefully I can get that done in the next few days.

The political season is here and everybody seems to have their opinions and guess what?
You guessed it so do I. I'm no exception but I think mine is going to be a little different.
Republicans and Democrats, Democrats and Republicans. Left vs. Right, Conservative vs. Liberal. What does it all mean, and how did they get to where they are now?
Like most things I try hard to form my own opinion because following a movements is where our beautiful country got to where it is today. Democrats fight hard NOT to be like Republicans and Republicans try hard NOT to be life Democrats. Therein lies the problem.
The worst thing any Republican could be called is a Democrat and the worst thing any Democrat could be called is a Republican. Each side fights hard NOT to be seen in any shape or form like the other side so no matter what they do they think, "How would Democrat/Republican think," then they do the exact opposite.
As you can imagine this creates extremes and our country is worse off for it. It forces us to vote for the person who we think is the lesser of two evils because no matter who we THINK is better for the country ends up really only having part of the answers.
I wish I had an answer but this is a problem that will only get worse before it gets better. It's going to be a while I think before a moderate gets voted in or another political party has a chance of getting somebody elected. As a people we need to vote for WHO will fix our country not one of only two who WE think has a chance of getting elected.
We hear it all the time, "Don't vote for so and so, its a wasted vote."
Bullshit I say. Vote for whats in your heart. Vote for a change.
Weekdays I drop my 6 year old daughter, Katie, off at school and today was no different. I was on my way to her school when my friend Adam gave me a call and as usual we jumped right into picking at each other and spoke about nothing in particular.
Soon the conversation took a turn and I asked him for like the 6th time, "Hey have you checked out my website yet?"
He just laughed and said, "Was your site the one with all those naked women on it?"
"No," I said. "I guess that means you didn't make it... again."
After talking about why he needed to take a look at it and telling him that it wasn't finished yet but I wanted his opinion he told me an interesting story.
The story was about a musician that outlined every step of his new album from conception to release in a blog. "Just imagine what it would be like if Steve Jobs or Bill Gates had a blog back in the day, do you know how powerful that would be?" Adam asked.
"That would be huge, just think about political figures like Martin Luther King Jr. and what he would have to say" I chimed in.
Of coarse I'm no Steve Jobs, Bill Gates or Martin Luther King Jr. but I thought it a good idea to outline my quest for a 6 figure freelance copywriting career.
As I told Adam people like to know the people they are doing business with and if someone can relate to my story then they would be more willing to do business with me so here it goes!
I've been writing for years and have always enjoyed doing it but never thought I would be in the position to be able to make money from it. Not too long ago, after reading a few books on copywriting and persuasive ads I decided that I would like to be able to write direct response copy for a living.
Of course I didn't just jump into that decision blindly because I have and am taking the time to really hone my skills by writing as much as possible and attending any and every seminar that I can get to.
I've been in sales for years and have excelled in it. I'm currently a sales trainer and travel the country teaching others what I have learned. So I thought it a natural progression to study salesmanship in print, and that's what I have done and am doing.
In fact I have written many sales letters, emails, advetorials and direct mail pieces for my clients but always as an add-on and never made any money from doing it, but boy did they ever!
I decided that the first order of business was to build a website so I registered PersuasiveAdCopy.com, installed the Joomla CMS to build it in and went about designing a professional identity. Of course I'm no web designer but I have hopes of one day hiring a professional to build me one.
To get my name out there I have been active in forums helping as many people as possible so that I can build a reputation, portfolio and testimonials.
My first job as a freelance copywriter was a sales letter for the mental fitness trainer T. Lavon Lawrence. He has an awesome package that he put together to strengthen your mental faculties of Concentration, Focus, and willpower. Check it out at Neuro-Sculpting.com, you will be glad you did.
Just last week I came across a personal trainer looking to ramp up his business and while he already had a good marketing package put together I was able to give him some rewrite advice and as I write this he is sending the letters out. If you want to check out his site head on over to GetStrongToday.com and if you're anywhere near the Sarasota Florida area I urge you to contact him, he is a great guy and really cares about helping other people.
So there you have it as of now, I'm going to keep positing in forums and finish up my site. I will write more soon!
